Thread: We won!!!!!

Hi Everyone,

I know I haven't been around for about 6 months or maybe even longer! My head has been elsewhere.
We recently won our SEN tribunal hearing for my son who has Severe developmental delay due to a rare (is there any other kind???) chromosome disorder.
We were awarded the school of our choice and he now attends Meldreth Manor as a 52 week boarder!!! Which is a phenomonal win!!

So if you are going up against your Local Authority in a SEN hearing I strongly recommend you throw all you have at it. We spent 3 long years and a ridiculous amount of money, but it paid off.

I'm so thrilled, that I wanted to share the good news with you all.

Now I'm learning to cope with him not being here. I'm not missing the army of carers trapesing in and out of my house! As much as I appreciated their help.

For those of you who know me for my cloth nappy connections, I shall be back in the thick of things soon

If anyone has any questions about the tribunal I'll be happy to pass on what I know. Though I can't promise to have all the answers

yes..........what great news.........it makes a change to hear that the little man won against the big man so to speak.
I expect it is odd adjusting to not having your DS around..but just remember & try to think about what you have achieved..........

i know where ur coming from with the carers....my niece has severe cerebal palsy, so her mum has to have carers in every day from 7 in the morning til 8 at night...its necessary, but it gets her down because she can't have her home to do things most ppl take for granted...like just vegging out in her jimjams
