    Ironing service

It seems I may be able to make a little extra money by doing other peoples' ironing. I quite enjoy ironing so if I'm getting alittle extra money too then great.

Do any of you use an Ironing Service? How much should I be charging?

No idea how much you should charge, but move nearer me please

Go for it though! I may think you're very weird for enjoying ironing but I hope it all goes well for you

I'm not planning on putting a business plan or anything like that together - but if I make any money it can fund my BBQ/alcohol habit!!

Go for it! You've got the press, haven't you?

Why don't you google other ironing services in area and see how much they charge.

Someone in our local paper charges £15 per level baskt load, with free collect and return.

I can iron a level basket in an hour, so not a bad rate - unless it was a basket of shirts...Yuck!

I'd separate items so shirts cost more than a pile of tshirts etc, same for dresses, duvets, delicate fabrics. Would you need insurance in case of a problem ?

I don't use one as it would take me longer to organise someone else to do it for me that it does for me to do it myself (am quite good & quick). Also like to iron shirts & bedding wheh they have been on line for just a short time that way I get all the creases out. Can't bear the thought of letting shirts go bone dry before getting them ironed!

I've never checked it out but I had heard that Irons use quite a bit of electricity so might be worth calculating that consumption before setting your rate.

I pay £10 an hour, I get 3 laundry baskets worth for £20. Sometimes £25 depending on how many shirts there are in there.
