    Roast beef in slow cooker?

I have a 0.7kg joint of silverside beef and I was hoping to find a recipe to tell me how to slow cook it. But I can't! It's all threads and stuff from other forums.

As far as I can tell, I brown it off in a frying pan and a bit of oil. But then what? Do I add water to the slow cooker or not? And should I put an onion and carrot underneath?

Am hoping some experts here can help!!

I slow cook beef in my slow cooker in beef stock rather than water - then use it to make delicious gravy on the stove

You can also through in what you like

Thanks - do I cover it with stock?

And how long for? Am thinking 7 hours at medium.

    I cover it completely.

Regarding cooking time - I work by this rule - for every hour you'd cook something in the oven or on the hob, allow 8 hours on low or 4 hours on high. Medium setting doesn't get used in my house - LOL!

Your making me hungry as slow cooked beef is one of my favourite things!
