Thanks Meggie - that's on my meal plan for next week. Yum yum

I used to have a little slow cooker - that did enough stew for 2 hungry adults. Then my mum bought a fancy one that she read as being a 4 pint slow cooker but when it arrived it's actually 4 litres!! So we swapped - I could now probably feed the whole street with mine!

We need to get a slow cooker. It is on Dh's shopping list since his solar panels were installed.
Can you get two partitioned ones so I could cook a veggie meal in one side?

The accountant in me is reeling at the thought of leaving a cooking appliance on ALL DAY, not to mention my inherited pesimism thinking that such an unsupervised appliance could set on fire. How much do these things cost to run?

It's about the same as a light bulb iirc. It cooks on a very low heat over a long period of time

Agree, very cheap compared to using a conventional oven. I get in from work at about 3 and put it on then ready for 7ish, tend to be in and out between 4 and then.

Yay I got one! Now, I've had a look online and got some nice recipes to try but can anyone recommend a good slow cooker cookbook?
