Petition to allow BF to be permitted in public places

Law has been passed in Scotland that breast feeding is permitted in any public place. This follows the case of a mum chucked off a bus for BF.
There is a campaign for a similar law to be passed in England ( not sure if Wales would be covered by this or not)

I've signed it and will make it a sticky. It's a bit of a shame though that we have to fight for what should go without saying, being "allowed" to b/f in public, if you know what I mean?

It is sad that this is neccesary.

I fortunately never had a problem with BF in restauraunts, pubs, shops etc

What this law will do is protect from the minority of people who think BF is distasteful in their establishments and hopefully this will encourage more mums to BF who are currently nervous about what other peoples' reactions might be.

It does not attempt to promote BF over other feeding types, simply to allow babies to take milk by either breast or bottle when in a public place

I didn't even know it wasn't law already

Thankfully all of my public BF experiences have been very positive so far, both in the UK and here in Switzerland, but I am off to sign anyway.

I have signed, as a bf mum I think we should have a choice to feed our babies where ever we see fit, I'm fed up of having to make the long walk across the town centre were I live to the only mother and baby room in the area when ever we are out.
I also find it very annoying when I have gone into shops and asked if they have a mother and baby room, to be directed to the ladies toilets,
Not only is this very unhygienic, it make feeding my baby a very unpleasent experience,
