give my little man a becker he is 9 week i would like to start him with a beecker from a early age but whats to early please help thank you

Don't think they recommend beakers untill you are weaning with solids....so at least 6 months.

He won't take much from it until he can swallow solids and has lost the tongue reflex, althgouh he might lap from an open cup. If b'fed he doesn't need anything else to drink anyway.

hes already on baby food as his milk neva filled him as recommened by the hv and hes doing really well on it

i would still wait until he's 6 months old.

Shocking that a hv has endorsed that , contrary to WHO guidelines, but presumably she gave you all the associated risks to help you come to an informed decision ? Milk, and lots of it, is all that is required up to even 6 months !

Regardless of when he starts his food, his proper swallowing reflex wont kick in until 5ish months (Or so I believe).

OHHH no please don't give him food. His little body won't be ready for it at all. The nutrients he will get from food is very minimal compared to all the nutrients from milk.

Your HV needs retraining if she is recommending food at this age

Agree - I thought they couldn't swallow solids till at least 4 months - and not necessarily even then, 6 mos as per WHO guidelines - due to the gag reflex! I would get a second opinion.
