Wondering when/ if/how he will stop his morning feed

Mini Munchkin has always been a bit of a boobaholic.
I had to stop his night feeds at 8 months ( he still wanted them 2 hrly).
At 18 months I realised that when he wanted a daytime feed, he was generally happy with a snack instead, so they went
He eventually stopped his before bed feed at abput 2 yrs.

Now at 2yrs 4 months my Mini Munchkin still relishes his morning feed.
As soon as he comes out of his cot, he is on to me like a leech and generally feeds for at least 30mins. At one point, he seemed to be gradually taking less milk, but now he is back to 30mins +
I am ok with him carrying on at the moment, but just wondering if others have experienced this, and if so did the child stop BF himself, or did you intervene? If so how?

So different to my first boy, who dropped his morning feed (also last remaining feed) shortly after he turned 1

    Hi Jane,

DS1 gave up b/f'ding at about 2 years 9 months when I was pregnant with DS2, I was concerned about tandem feeding and started offering a special cup of milk to DS1 and once he realised that he could gulp that down quicker he stopped.

Stopped b/f'ding DS2 about 3/4 months ago and DH helped with that, when DS2 woke up in the morning DH would take him down stairs and give a cup of milk and a cuddle on the sofa bed. He came back to our bed once he accepted the cup. He's very happy by just putting his hand on my breast now and can go back to sleep like that (he wakes up early).

I bf ds3 til about 14 months..i slowly weaned him onto the bottle/cup, by either getting dp to feed him or feed him next to me but lying just away from me [IYSWIM]..i have struggled with 'mummy attachment' with him, because he has bf the longest out of all my boys, he's never taken to a dummy and sometimes its easier to give in. Like Ellie he does the hand on the boob, sometimes at inappropriate moments..talking to the headmaster for example
The thing is i'm trying not to stress too much about his clingyness and at nearly 2 i still consider him my baby and its not as if he'll be like this at 6 or 7, lol..

DS2 has just stopped, he was having a morning and bedtime feed. We stopped the morning one about a month ago, he was already missing it at the weekend when I was at work, because he's rarely up before I go out. So DH just carried on offering him his cup of milk every morning, which he soon got used to. With his bedtime one I was quite happy to continue but on Saturday just before bed he went and pointed at the fridge and at where I keep his cup. So I've carried on offering him his cup every evening and he's been quite happy with that, as long as he gets to sit on my lap and drink it.

My DS is 18months and loves his booby mainly at night. I would like to wean him from some of his night feeds. He uses booby to go to sleep. How do I encourage him to stop feeding so many time s at night. I would not mind him feeding once before his bed time but not 2 to 3 time at night.

is it worth trying to give a bottle of plain water, so he gets into the mind set of having nothing 'exciting' to wake up to?

increase his evening feeds/eats so he is fuller before bed?

It is really difficult to start with, but i'm sure he will settled more at night
    Good luck, Isabella x

We got rid of night feeds , but not one before bed in a similar way.
When he woke he got cuddles, water if thirsty but no milk, and then tucked back in to his bed. Took a little while for him to learn that we really meant no milk, so expect some difficult nights to start with. Try to get your DH?DP to do some of the night time work too, as may be easier as he doesn't have a smell of milk about him.
