    Coming off mirtazapine

Hi, just thought I would try this out and see if I can get any advice...
In the last two weeks I have been reducing my mirtazapine dose from 30mg to 15mg with the help of my doctor, my doctor says I should be totally fine and shouldn't suffer major withdrawals if I do it correctly. Although it's all going great and I'm feeling very positive about saying goodbye to them for good I've read a little on the web about people finding it hard to come off them!! Since momday afternoon untill lastnite I felt constantly sick (thankgoodness it's stopped) and today I've had a slight headache all day. Is this normal? Does anyone have any experience or any idea how long the withdrawals last?
    Much appreciated

    Rach

I'm afraid I have no idea Rach, sorry. With guidance from your GP though I would hope the withdrawal symptoms are kept to a minimum for you

Might be viral, but could well be withdrawal, have you googled the withdrawal effects?

When I came off my AD's I had heart flutters, headaches, moody-ness, and fatigue plus flu symptoms

Am perfectly fine now and thankfully the side effects only lasted about 10 days.

    Hi auntylady,
Yes I did have a little google but I don't think it really helped reading about peoples withdrawals as I find if you see something someone else is going thru then your always gonna be waiting for those affects to happen!
I was once on citrapalam?? Not sure of spelling :-/ but they started bringing on panic attacks so I just stopped them and went cold turkey, omg I was so ill really thought I was dying, didn't think a little 10mg tablet could have such an affect!!
I did have a cold last week but have never felt sick at the end of one :-/
I'm really hoping that if it was withdrawal then that was it :-) I'm definitely coming off them, there's no going back now, was just looking for some advice of anyone who maybe on/has been on the same path!

    Much appreciated
    Rach :-)
