Said MT has to stop sucking his thumb....
    How?

Well it knacked my teeth. Pushed the front ones out, needed brace

    Yeah, that's same as him
I always thought it's cos Mark has a large overbite

He looked so unhappy at the prospect of not sucking his thumb

Never had that problem but friend of mine had success with putting a plaster on the thumb - makes it not very nice to suck. You have to have the child committed to stopping too though.

My sister had the same as Gemma - it made her front teeth really stick out and a massive gap in between her front two. DD1 sucks her thumb and I'm not trying to stop her as her big teeth are coming through, although apparently it affects them even if they are still baby teeth. Not sure how to stop her either though, may try the plaster idea.

Stop Bite is available in Boots & it stopped Imogen biting her nails.

Dh used to suck his fingers & he needed a brace to close the gaps it created.
