I used to suck my thumb. Mum tried everything including stop n grow but nothing worked. When asleep I did it unconsciously. I'd did nothing to my teeth btw. I was a teenager when I stopped

Yes, DD1 does it when asleep and she also likes sucking her thumb, doesn't want to stop. I'm so paranoid though as I saw what it did to my sister's teeth and want to avoid it where possible.

Also, I remember when growing up our next door neighbour used to suck her thumb. She was well into her 30s (had 2 late teenage kids) and we used to rip the p&*% out of her.....

I still suck mine occasionally

My dd never used to suck her thumb, but she still had protruding teeth and needed braces.
