Thread: Swollen Eyelid

ds(13) rubbed his eye earlier this week and the eyelid became very inflamed and swollen. Chemist yesterday thought it may an allergy but Piriton hasn't really helped. No pain, itchiness or discharge inside the eye, just above, but it doesn't look good, very pink and as if eye is partly closed. GP can't fit him in today ("oh we had cancellations earlier if you'd called then" - I did but noone answered ) unless I strike lucky this afternoon or call first thing tomorrow. Anything we can do in the meantime ?

keep it clean, with saline.

thanks , have bathed it in boiled water and managed to wangle an appointment this evening.

ah he has a stye on the inner lid. Bathe with warm salty water and prescripotion for ab's as a back up.
