sadly they are both Tilly.... but none the less still old enough to know that what they were doing at the time was wrong. These boys need major help or else they will carry on their destructive path & one day another victim may not be so lucky.... the whole case is just so shocking :-(

I don't think we can say they will ever be safe enough to release if they are that sadistic at such a young age what will they be like fully grown it's not worth the risk imo

My DS is 11 and I cannot imagine him committing crimes like this!

I think their family have an awful lot to answer for

Little sh!ts and I agree, their family should be locked up too. Just the little I heard about all of them just now sickened me. DH and I ended up having the conversation about what would you do if that happened to your kids and I nearly burst into angry tears. We'd so take the law into our own hands.

They are both offenders and victims. No child is born evil. Their short childhood has made them into this. We can't compare them to own loved and cared for children. These children appear to have had no moral upbringing, no love shown. There is a line of research that shows that children develop empathy when key brain connectors develop in babyhood. If they are not given a loving upbringing, or when where they are at least taught love and compassion, then they won't develop these connectoras and they will have nos ense of compassion or empathy theirselves. They will not know right and wrong.

However, this can't condone their actions and what they did to those poor young boys that day. They are the real true victims and that cannot be forgotten. I truely hope those young boys will get the help they need to move on in their lives.

However, as a civilised society we must now to right those wrongs, and to help the two offenders grow into adults. Fortunately research also shows that children who committ awful crimes as children do not generally go on to become violent or abusive adults, once they have gone through rehabilitation. So there is some light, some hope. And thtat has to be good for everyone in society. Chances are these boys can be rehabilitated and grow up to know moral rights and wrongs. It will be a long haul, and a lot of hard work, but it is possible.

The parents of the two brothers should be brought to court and made to face up to the damage that they have caused. And the SS, already notoriously bad in Doncaster, must surely now face some major upheavals - 30 times they were given the chance to do something with this family, and 30 times they failed to act.

    I agree about parents

I think when very young children commit crime, their parents should be given the same sentence - it won't undo the wrong, but it might make other parents sit up and take some notice of their childrens behaviour
