Thread: facebook twitter feeds

Twitter wise anyone can see any tweets, if you use an application such as tweetdeck you can put filters in place - say "show me any tweet that has the word icklebear and divorce in it", it'll then create a column in its display where any tweet with those in it comes up, which in this case would be anything from here with my name on that was not in the private forums. It would also show alot of noise as it's any tweet from anywhere with that stuff in, but I suppose for me its the fact you could do this.

Facebook wise I've no idea, I turn everything off for it so I suppose the only way to know is ask someone who has an FB account but isn't linked to MO on FB???

Yes, anyone can see tweets, but anyone can see the stuff on here that isn't in the psf, all they have to do is google if they know your username. I don't think the twitter / facebook feeds make all that much difference tbh, they are only going to show up to people who either follow them or go looking for them and chances are if they are doing that chances are they have been on the forum anyway.

I didn't understand half of those last few posts

all I want to know, is it worth having the feeds out to twitter and facebook? The original reason was to bring people to the site
It doesn't seem to be doing that but it is possibly reducing posts of the people already here
