I know one of you will have a brilliant solution for me!

At church, there is a bit at the back where we have a playpen, some toys, books, general area for children to play during the service
Its wooden floors so there is a bit of carpet down (to my mind, to protect their heads and bums, but in reality, to minimise the sound!)

Until recently, they had 3 or 4 big beanbags, but after a mishap too many with an open zip (and a rather intolerant cleaner - who is actually paid to clean the church and should be able to cope with a few polystyrene balls on the floor and since I am minuting the sunday school meeting, I am putting that on the record thank you very much tho I am not cross and am happy to move on and not be harping back to it 3 months later) we removed the bean bags

I am keen to replace them with something not filled with polystyrene beans

    Has to be inexpensive
Can't be the traditional kids chair, as we can't have a) the little ones falling off it
or b) it scraping noisily and damagingly across the solid 200 year old oak floor!
    Need to be robust
    preferably cleanable

Has anyone any ideas at all, PLEASE! I thought some big cushions but we haven't seen any, anywhere
Nearest thing I saw was fab in B&Q but it was £40 per chair!!!

    thanks

could you not have bean bags, but sew the zip up so it can't be undone?

wash your mouth out with soap and water
those bean bags caused world war 3 - I suggested that, you'd think I had suggested sacrificing a couple of koalas on the altar

A sewn up beanbag, with a washable outer cover.

    Couple of old sofa cushions.

    Old cot mattress.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
    We will remember them.

Hids - that would be my suggestion too - large square cushions or pillow, Ikea may have some cheap ones too.
