    (((HUGS)))

It does sound like SPD. I've had it mildly in my last 2 pregnancies and moderately in this one. I went to see the physio, there isn't a lot they can do but I was given a support belt like this one and on my bad days it really helps.

    http://www.emma-jane.com/supportbelt.htm

They gave me lots of advice, like keeping my knees together when rolling over in bed and sitting down to put my pants/trousers on. My midwife says that going upstairs backwards can help.

One good thing, everyone has told me that SPD can makeit easier to give birth as it allows the pelvis open up more readily but it's best to avoid being on your back, having your legs in styrups or having an epidural which means you can't feel it hurting if you legs are seperated too far. Apparently being on all fours and being in water is supposed to be best which is exactly what I'm planning to do.

It's worth talking to your midwife about it and maybe seeing a physio and getting a support belt. I know I don't have it too bad but at times it has been excrutiating so you have my sympathy!

i had to have a ventouse with Erin and an episiotomy- I reckon that was partly due to the epidoodle slowing everything down

IKWYM......I had an episiotomy with ds1, as I had an epidural, plus two bags of syntocinon. Was threatened with forceps, but I insisted on doing it alone......I have never worked so hard (laying down) in all my life

    Never again.

I had a touch of SPD in my last pregnancy and I gave birth on all fours leaning on one of those birthing balls and it was the most comfortable position for me and it helped with tearing too, less pressure on the perinium (32 stithes with dd and nothing with ds!)
Definately try all fours if you can.

hands and knees darling, hands and knees

And make sure they have the measurement of how far you can open your legs before it hurts - and that this is all over your notes
I was only 18" and that is very little indeed - start testing! Get Ian between your knees with a tape measure
    (can't believe I just said that )
