This big chunk of work has been taken away from the admin department who used to do it, and transferred to another. Only the first team have stopped doing it as of 1st April when they got their new responsibilities, and when I tracked down the new team they expressed geat surprise that I wanted them to do something for me because they were told they would start the new chunk of work mid may! Six weeks with no-one doing anything on it! It flew around some senior managers when I kicked the hornets' nest, and still no-one seemed to want to admit who would do the work.
And last night I told one of the grade 7's in the new integrator post which was invented for them so they wouldn't have to be made redundant, about a problem I was having getting (a senior person in another department's) text for a partner's webpage approved because no-one seems to know whose responsibility it is to approve it, and he said the text was terrible anyway and I could draft something myself, put it past him and send it to the partner. So I did it at home, sent it to him late last night, he was in the office all day today because the little green light was by his name in Outlook, and he didn't get back to me!
Reorganisation is a wonderful thing, isn't it. By the time we get sorted out anything will seem an improvement on this because we'll have forgotten that things actually worked OK before, and then we'll have a new government and go through it all over again.
