Thread: hmmmm am I expecting too much here?

Minitilly went to his childminder before school today and was a trifle laden down with his school book bag and lunch box as usual
But he also had his PE kit and his football kit

He left his PE kit behind, which he knew about in the car on the way to school

Since she has to drive past the school to go anywhere, was it really too much to ask her to drop it off at school for him?
She just left it at hers and I am still cross. He was okay, didn't seem upset at having to borrow one at school but I am a bit narked

Am I being unreasonable in my expectations?

the fact she has to past the school would'nt have hurt her to have dropped it in.

But did she go anywhere? Maybe she went somewhere straight after dropping him off and home again and didn't need to go anywhere else again?

Maybe she went home and thought 'ohh i will drop that off when I go out again' and then she forgot as she rushed out and only remembered once she passed the school.

You are being unreasonable. The woman is a childminder and not a substitute mother. She is not paid to remember she is paid to mind - Oops! I thought this was mumsnet for a moment there

well if she's gone past she could have dropped it in. i would have done. but as starry says, did she go past?

and she is my next door neighbour

and she has been looking after him for over 5 years

and she was responsible for making sure he took it with him in the first place

Maybe she went a different route? Have you proof she went out again?

and even if she wasn't going out, its 5 minutes away

Well there is only one way out of the estate and it takes you past the school! (Unless she drove thru our fencing and over the nature reserves, but haven't noticed anything like that)

And court proof, no, no signed afadavits

but she almost certainly had to go to the school to collect from the nursery at 11.30
And she always goes out

and like I say, there are 3 or 4 neighbours immediately at hand who would have dropped it off

I still think she should have done it, it was her responsibility to see he had everything he needed for school. He's only 5, he could have been really upset
