Thread: Couple seeking help with ivf treatment

I have just been watching my local news (Look North). On there there was a couple called Andy and Leanne. They are trying for a baby but due to Leanne already having had a baby girl they are not eligible for NHS treatment.

The thing is that Leanne's daughter Chloe died at just 11 months old and due to a medical condition Leanne is unable to conceive naturally. The NHS have still said no as it is not policy. They have attempted IVF twice at a cost of just over £10,000. They now have no funds left and are trying to raise the money for a third, and hopefully final, IVF attempt. They are doing this by selling Marigold Seeds on eBay for just £1.

Rather than me go on about it I have pasted their narrative from their eBay listing below for you to read:

Hi everyone 3rd time lucky ? with our e-bay baby maybe ?

The story so far ;

we are desperately trying to get some funds together for our 4th and hopefully final ivf/icsi attempt , but for some reason e bay keep stopping our listing :0(

we are andy and leanne and have been trying for a baby for 3 and a half years but we were told we needed ivf/icsi treatment but did not qualify on the nhs so we have spent over £10,000 of our own money and are now totally broke but are not going to give up on our dream because of nhs rules and with quickly declining sperm quality we dont have the time to sit around waiting.

We did hope that the nhs may of been so kind to make an exception because of our circumstances , leannes daughter chloe dying aged 11 months , and so she moreso is desperate to be a mum once more .BUT THE NHS SAID NO!!!

So now we are hope-ing and relying on the generosity of complete strangers to try help us achieve this , and to our surprise our 1st listing had 2500 hits in 2 days and our second listing had 400 hits in 12 hours ( thanks to mumsnet ) before being removed! thank you all.

we also received hundreds of goodluck e-mails and that is why we feel we should carry on with this path however crazy that may seem to some.

That is such a shame that they cannot receive the treatment. WIll have a look at eBay later.

have just gone on ebay and bought a seed hope they get enough to try again

I too have bought a couple of seeds. Bless them, I hope it all helps and their dreams come true
