Hello everyone
I have never done a poll so maybe this won't work.... I would love to know what women(and men) know and think about doulas.....
Hi there Pupuce. You haven't got a "Yes I have considered becoming one, even though I haven't used one and have no intention of ever repesting the pregnancy/childbirth/newborn baby thing."
So because I knew about them before my last baby was born, but wentfor an independant midwife instead, I have checked the "not for me" box - but wanted to clarify that it is not because I don't think they play a very valuable role - more because it would not have suited my particular circumstances.
Mother to Alex (4/1/1998), Eleanor (18/10/2003) and Toby (26/3/2005)
"We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp; some are pretty; some
are dull; some have wierd names; and all are different colors. But they all
exist very nicely in the same box."
Hi Oakie :p
I know what you mean.... you know I would not have a doula myself IF (and that's a BIG if) I had a 3rd.... I would have an independent midwife IF I was expecting a breech or had another more difficult situation which I know the NHS would not be keen on for a home birth.
My community MW who was (amazingly) present at my 2 ho0me births was more like a doula than a MW anyway....
What do you mean with that emoticon?
No it didn't come accross as rude just wondered and THEN I thought.... oh maybe she is pregnant.... sorry - as I am NOT on call I had a whisky.... just one !
I am too far from you .... I am in Kent (will work in Surrey and Sussex) but I do know doulas in your neck of the woods.
