    Hope she is OK.

Our twin niece & nephew were born at about 32 weeks, I think there is a thread about it somewhere. They were in hospital for a couple of months, but they're fine now, in fact today is their 1st birthday.

Fingers crossed for them both. If it helps, I had DS1 at 31 weeks, I managed to keep him in for 2 days after the steroids, but he was fine. He spent time on SCBU, only 2 weeks at the hospital further away from us, a week of which was in an incubator, then a week in an open cot, then 3 days of him and I staying on the childrens ward in the closer hospital so we could adjust and to make sure he was still putting on weight.

I think that at that gestation, unless there is something wrong already with baby, they tend to be fine. It will be awful for mum, especially if there aren't the facilities for her to stay in the hospital (I was allowed to stay on the post natal ward, but tbh staying in a room full of women with their babies when I didn't have mine was horrendous so I left after 3 days) but the longer baby stays in after the steroids the better.

So.....good news is baby will probably be fine. I will keep my fingers crossed that mum is fine too.
    Love,

Alex's friend Jade was born the day after Alex because her mum had pre eclampsia. She was 3lb10 at birth (8 weeks early) and is now twice the size of Alex! She was only kept in hospital for 4 weeks, and 2 of those were precautionary.
Hope your friend manages to keep the pre eclampsia under control in hospital and baby makes it to 32 weeks.

Oh bless her, having to stay in, but definitely the best thing for them both.

Hope the little one carries on in there until well into 2010
Jelly Babies though .... no hope, is there?
