Do they actually work? I took them from 36 weeks with both mine and still went to 41+10/11 before having to be induced (twice each time!).

    Perhaps it's just me

IIRR they are supposed to help your uterus contract more effectively during labour as opposed to actually starting you off in labour iyswim. I took them both times and though I also went overdue and was induced both times my labours were 6 hrs for the first and just over 1 hr for the second, then again as I took them both times I have nothing to compare to so who knows if they helped or not

Fair enough, mine both lasted 37 hours - perhaps I needed horse doses or something

I cant decide if they worked on me or not, I was induced at 42 weeks with ds1, and didnt bother with them. I had a standard 12 hour ish labour, but was pushing for over and hour adn had forceps threatened!!

Ds2, went into labour spontaneously, active labour and 10 mins of pushing.

I thought they worked, but it might just have been second labour, different pregancy etc.

Worked for me - I took them with my third and fourth pregnancies and I arrived at hospital with Christopher 7cms dilated and had him an hour and a half later, and I arrived at hospital with Isobel 6 cms dilated but was made to lie down with my legs shut as she was a complicated breach and had to have a section - by the time I got to theatre I was just over 8cms even with my legs shut and being made to lie still!
Who knows anyway it's not like you can have the same labour twice with and without the tabs I think if you 'think' they are working then that's often enough

I had the tea with Daniel.....and it was vile..... and the tablets with Joel. I think I just did what it said on the side of the bottle.
I also had a homeopathic regime put together by my dad. It was great both times.....two very quick and uncomplicated labours and births.
I do think the amount you know about things, and the urge to stay in control of the situation plays a big part too...but then thats just my opinion

I've hit the 36 weeks mark and have some Rasberry Leaf Capsules - 400 mg. It states on the bottle to take 1 - 3 capsules 3 - 6 times daily. Is this right? I don't want to overdo it!

Sounds about right Ellie. IIRR I took a 675mg dose and took 2 capsules 3 times a day so as yours is a weaker dose you can take more

I was told from 36 wks however alot of mums take them earlier- obviously i wouldnt and neither should you. I think they helped me as i was induced at 38 wks and he said my uterus was nice and soft and i would have had my son within the next week if i hadnt been induced.

    STICK TO 36WKS

    fearn
