Did anyone see it? Just wondered what you thought if you did?

It was about midwife shortages in hospitals accross the UK. It had people on there that had given birth at home without a midwife because the hospital did not have room. Also a very sad story about a lady who was left alone until her baby became distressed and died in utero before birth

I am feel it was so true of my experience when I had dd, it was an horrendous experience and I am more than sure that this is why she has special needs (still awaiting diagnosis, but slowly pointing to her birth causing her subsequent problems)

Also when I had ds they were so understaffed it was untrue. It made me feel glad I had chosen an elective c-section and was not left vulnerable to what had happened the first time.

So did you see it and what do you all think?

Anyway, hello fio! I saw the program, most of it anyway, and it certainly rang true. Very worrying and upsetting, I'm so glad I didn't see it when I was pregnant

It was worrying wasnt it? I never thought about those poor pregnant people who may be watching it, scarey stuff. The department of Health said there was only a 3% shortage nation wide didnt they? that can't be right.

It is higher around London.... hate to say it but UNLESS something changes and there are more MW (better trained too sonetimes&#33 you need a bloody good birth partner to support you AND recognise the signs or get the MW is she hasn't been in a while....
