Well I read and reviewed Silent Knife - it is NOT scary and it is VERY much pro-VBAC.

Thats what I thought when I first heard of the book, but I was talking to someone in America and she said it had terrified her :shrug

Thanks everyone. I have stopped worrying about birth for the moment and am now worrying about ectopics (honestly I am such a nightmare when pregnant- I'm like this all the way through!)

The only trouble with VBAC books is they scare me to death about sections!

My first section was after a failed induction Pupuce. All was going OK but the stupid junior dr broke my waters at 1cm dilation. That was it I was flat on my back unable to move and didn't get any further.

Second section was elective- my consultant was nervous as ds2s head was 98th centile and ds1 hadn't descended at all- which he thought may be due to head size.

The only thing that worries me about VBAC (well not the only thing but one thing) is that I'm due New Years even- I worry about the NHS coping with an emergecy during a holiday period. I don't have a lot of faith to be honest.

A doula could be an idea- I'm in Devon....

I may be wrong but hospital will be properly staffed !
Was DS2 indeed that big when he was born ?
Plenty of doulas in Devon. E-mail me to say where in Devon....
