Yipppeee I'm home!
Thanks for all the lovely messages here and on FB, I managed to log on to read them, but couldnt reply.
I'm not going to type too much (Hopefully) as I'm in a lot of pain at the mo and feel a bit sicky, but thought I would do this whilst I have peace and quiet for 5 mins.
Dexter was born at 10:01 on Thur 30th Oct. He weighed 7lb 12oz, yep Jo, I guessed right! And he is totally gorgeous
The C-sec was not as straight forward as anticipated, and was quite possibly the scariest time of my life. As soon as I got into theatre I went to pieces and cried, and was shaking uncontrollably. First incision was made shortly before 9.30am, and it took over half hour to get him out. It took only 3 mins with Grace, and about 5 with Lilah. 10 mins in I knew things werent right.
There was massive amounts of scar tissue and everything was basically a mess in there, part way through they had to stop, and call the consultant who rushed down to finish it off herself. It was really, really scary. Dexters head was also so far engaged they had to use forceps to pull it out and he has little bruises on his cheeks and shoulders, my poor little lamb.
The consultant told me after about the scar tissue, and that my stomach had "Come apart" - her words! She said womb itself is fine, but not everything around it. I found out after my bladder was also "stuck" where it shouldnt be. She didnt say no more babies, but did say that if I did have one and they had to perform an emergency for any reason, that it was take at least 20 mins to get to the baby, which is obviously not good, potentially fatal. So I guess that seals the deal.
Whilst hey were still stitching me up I started to get sensation back in my legs as the spinal wore off as it had been so long since they started, I couldnt feel any pain at all, my feet and legs just started tingling, I told the Anethetist (Sp..) who wasnt worried as they were nearly done, but it scared me! I kept thinkng they were going to have to knock me out.
The shaking and crying continued for a couple of hours, and in recovery I had to ask MAtt to take Dexter from me (He was tucked in with me) as I just felt so ill, odd, and still in shock. I still feel bad about handing him over. I just didnt feel that happy right then, just scared. But I got better once on the ward.
So thats the short version. Since then he has been fantastic, hes very chilled and content. Didnt feed at all for over a day, but is now going 3 hourlu and we're getting better every time. Here are some pics.....
