    We're home......(details and pics...)

    Yipppeee I'm home!

Thanks for all the lovely messages here and on FB, I managed to log on to read them, but couldnt reply.

I'm not going to type too much (Hopefully) as I'm in a lot of pain at the mo and feel a bit sicky, but thought I would do this whilst I have peace and quiet for 5 mins.

Dexter was born at 10:01 on Thur 30th Oct. He weighed 7lb 12oz, yep Jo, I guessed right! And he is totally gorgeous

The C-sec was not as straight forward as anticipated, and was quite possibly the scariest time of my life. As soon as I got into theatre I went to pieces and cried, and was shaking uncontrollably. First incision was made shortly before 9.30am, and it took over half hour to get him out. It took only 3 mins with Grace, and about 5 with Lilah. 10 mins in I knew things werent right.

There was massive amounts of scar tissue and everything was basically a mess in there, part way through they had to stop, and call the consultant who rushed down to finish it off herself. It was really, really scary. Dexters head was also so far engaged they had to use forceps to pull it out and he has little bruises on his cheeks and shoulders, my poor little lamb.

The consultant told me after about the scar tissue, and that my stomach had "Come apart" - her words! She said womb itself is fine, but not everything around it. I found out after my bladder was also "stuck" where it shouldnt be. She didnt say no more babies, but did say that if I did have one and they had to perform an emergency for any reason, that it was take at least 20 mins to get to the baby, which is obviously not good, potentially fatal. So I guess that seals the deal.

Whilst hey were still stitching me up I started to get sensation back in my legs as the spinal wore off as it had been so long since they started, I couldnt feel any pain at all, my feet and legs just started tingling, I told the Anethetist (Sp..) who wasnt worried as they were nearly done, but it scared me! I kept thinkng they were going to have to knock me out.

The shaking and crying continued for a couple of hours, and in recovery I had to ask MAtt to take Dexter from me (He was tucked in with me) as I just felt so ill, odd, and still in shock. I still feel bad about handing him over. I just didnt feel that happy right then, just scared. But I got better once on the ward.

So thats the short version. Since then he has been fantastic, hes very chilled and content. Didnt feed at all for over a day, but is now going 3 hourlu and we're getting better every time. Here are some pics.....

Dexter, so nice to finally "meet" you....do you know that you have kept all of us ladies here on MO very busy for a couple of weeks....glad you arrived safely, you are a beautiful little man.
Many congratulations to you all first off....Glad you are home Lise, at least you can do things at your pace now & get into your own little routine. All of the pics are fab, the girls look besotted by Dexter already...you won't need to look far for little helpers will you!
Your story gets tricky in places doesn't it....but at least both you & dexter are home & in good health. Now before I finish this posting I wouldn't be doing my job or doing what you expect of me Lise...TAKE THINGS EASY LADY!!! & well done for guessing the correct weight of Dexter....sadly no prize in the sweepstake but hey you have the best prize of all, your little man..... take care x

Awh he is gorgeus. I didn't want to say before you went in to have him but I had a bad experience too on my 3rd C-section which resulted in a 2 week stay for us in hospital after he was born but we have been fine since - it was a problem with my bladder. Sealed the deal for us too. I shook alot after too. You are home now and thats all that matters. Welcome Dexter.

Welcome home Lise and Dexter. Sorry to hear it was so hairy at times but glad to know you are both safe and sound at home now. Now make sure you get lots of rest and get everyone helping you out at home. You have 2 very proud big sisters there who will be willing to help you out I am sure.

I never asked about the state of my body after my last section - must be tons of scar tissue left after 3 sections!

Oh! He is super, super, super, super, SUPER cute!!! And I love the name Dexter. He just looks like a Dexter doesn't he? He is so gorgeous.

Sorry you had a not so easy time but at least you got home on the 3rd day! I had natural births but I shook uncontrollably during ds2's labour and birth and had to hand the baby to Mr Starry shortly after I delivered him as I didn't feel 'right' and was still very shaky and weird- so it happens to us all and don't feel bad about it!

    I just love that name!
