    Loving my ring sling!

Never thought I was a RS kinda gal., but since hiring one for awedding, I have bought one ( a lightly padded maya wrap rainbow ) and am finding it great for certain times.
It is fab when dropping big bruv at nursery, previously I carried the baby in his car seat ( or moby when he was tiny) It is so easy to put on without trailing straps etc.
Also great in the park, chasing after the big one and getting the Mimi Munchkin in and out to go on the swings without getting the sling muddy.
Wouldn't want to use it all the time but fab for quick trips. Loving the funky rainbow colours too

I have borrowed one off a friend but can't get 100% comfy with it yet. I'm going to visit another friend next week so hopefully she can give me a lesson or 2!!

Hi Dizzy, I've found that he needs to sit really high on the hip and pull it very tight, also make sure fabric is right up to his shoulders then it feels really comfy

OOHhh thats a good tip. I was having it below his shoulders. Will give it a try when he's in a good mood! (Teething lol)

I think it's helpful to think of the sling as a seat for the baby - so that rather than sitting 'on' you, he is sitting 'in' the sling - so the fabric comes all the way down to the backs of the knees & is spread really well. Also, the higher & tighter you can have the sling, the better the weight will be distribued.

    Hope this is helpful

I'm glad I read this thread. I want a sling for the baby I am expecting. I have two children already but am a sling virgin. I'm concerned about the amount of fabric in a wrap as I'll be trying to get the baby into after having driven to school, supermarket, etc.

From what you've said a ring sling sounds easier. A friend is hopefully bringing hers to toddler group to show me try it.

Chelltune if you get a stretchy wrap then you can tie it on yourself and when you go out to the school, shops etc just take babe out of the car seat and pop him/her into the already tied onto you wrap, easy peasy and a wrap is much comfier with a newborn than a RS IMO.
