    Wrap slings

I went to see my friend today and took along my collection of slings to try her new liccle teenie bubba in.
She has borrowed a couple of mine but really likes one of my 'borrowed' ones which I couldn't lend to her iykwim

She loves the wrap style slings. I am being cheeky to see if anyone is selling one cheap so she can try it without having to fork out lots of money which she can't afford.

She loved the Calin Bleu gauze wrap IIRC? (Its a non stretchy one) So that style or anything similar.

Did she manage ok with the Calin Blue wrap, someone on another forum said I shouldn't get one for a newborn as I'm a sling virgin. I really want one *stomps feet*

I demonstrated for her with him in it and he was really comfy. I couldn't leave it to try though as it was borrowed off my friend and she needs it back.
I've never heard anyone say don't use them with a newborn?

Someone told me I'd be better with a stretchy wrap for a new born as I've no experience of using a sling. They said that the gauze would be harder to use. I like the Calin Bleu as it sounds nice and cool, I hate being hot.

I don't want to give this one back so I am looking at getting one too!

I used a GM gauze wrap (Bali Baby Breeze) with Emily from newborn, and it was 100% fine. I also had a Moby (and Didy, and Storch) and they all work fine with a small baby - they just tie slightly differently, but you quickly get used to the differing feel, and I personally liked the choice.

On a hot day (or in the depths of Winter under a coat) I love the gauze, so I would not put someone off trying one with a newborn. Emily was born at the end of April, and I was glad of a lighter wrap during the hot months that followed. In the first 6 months, I probably used a gauze wrap more than any other.

If you really want a Calin Bleu wrap, I would say get one. Or if you fancy a GM gauze in periwinkle blue, then I am probably selling mine, as Emily doesn't want to be worn anymore so I need to trim down my wrap collection.
