    Quick advice

Colleague had bikini wax last night
It hurts today, not tender, hurts
She's got bruising and red welts

She rang and they said it was normal...?!

I've had that before. Tends to die down fairly quickly.

Did they not recommend any cooling lotion to put on it? I got a tube from my beautician and it worked very well. It could also be that the beautician wasn't very experienced at doing bikini lines and didn't pull the skin tight enough. I ended up with bruises the first time I got mine done back in Plymouth...didn't go back to her again!!

sounds like what hids suggested, that and maybe the wax was a bit hot!

    Sudocreme will fix it!

One year we were in a hotel by an airport flying, can't remember where. I got my dh to wax my bits in the loo. Having not done it before it put the strip on and gave it a right old tug but not against the grain so to speak so hardly shifted anything. He promptly stuck it back on and gave it an even heaftier tug the other way. The bruising lasted few days and was lucking mostly covered by my cossie. I remember texting Ginny who I think I was also going on hols with, I could have killed dh and yes it hurt.

I remember letting DH at mine with a razor, but that was because I was 9 months preggers and couldn't even find it myself and was going in for a section the next day. Never seen a man look so terrified.

    Lol @ Gemma!

Ickle I think I do remember that...would never let dh do that to me - he's allowed to do under my arms & that's only cos it's impossible for me to do

2 things can cause brusing on the bikin line after a wax

one is not using enough wax
second is not pulling the skin tight enough

These are two of the basics things you a taught when learning waxing so for the theraphist to say this is normal is wrong and i'd phone back and ask to speak to the manager
