Macmcrae yeah it has helped a lot. I always know when he's come into contact with the allergens. Even if he just touched it his body swells and the eczema will be back with it's full rage like it was before. until whatever he's had is out of his system.
Pixie I wasn't trying to interfere please don't think I was. I just remeber bathing Ryan and him sobbing And me sobbing and the whole experience left us both so traumatised. I wasn't suggesting you went against the advice of your consultant but they do try to put you off having these tests. I just wanted you to know you weren't alone and things could be done. If they really won't do the tests and you did want to know if anything in particular was causing it you could try yorktest i think its part of lloyds pharmacy for £90 they do a blood allergy test. Just an idea if it helps hope so
Also try this url http://www.allergyuk.org/ah_house.html its about allergy free living and what to do in your home. Sorry if you read this info before or if its no help.
Keep smiling

Jumping in on this since we too have gone the allergy testing route.....knowing my Dd's allergens helped dramatically. I fought and fought with Dr's about getting her tested, and they all told me it wasn't necessary. We moved from the US to the UK when she was 3 and it went away just about completely, and then we moved back to the US when she was 7 (a different part of the US than we had previously lived) and within days it was awful again....walked her in to her new Dr and said "I want allergy testing and am not leaving until we get referred" and she had an appointment for testing 2 weeks later. She still had her moments because she would get defiant and not actually take her meds (she had 2 oral antihistamines to keep her from itching...one a 24 hr non-drowsy type, and the other a top up for bedtime if she needed it...and she'd pretent to put them in her mouth, then I'd find them stashed behind the bin/in the sofa/behind her bed/basically all over the house) We learned that dust mites and cats are both VERY bad for her, as were some of the plants in our front garden....took them out, kept her away from cats, and all was well!
She's 10 now.....and has been doing really well lately, she's most prone to breaking out on her scalp (she had bald spots even...terrible! They've grown back in thank goodness...you know girls and their hair!!) I know by age 11 is when most kids outgrow it.....and constanly pray that she will, and her's doesn't sound nearly as bad as poor little E. She's in my thoughts!
