Thread: 16 Has his Dairy allergy come back?

Hi, My 16 year old son has had a horrible cough for a few weeks now and I took him to the practice nurse who said he has Asthma and gave him two inhalers. I am amazed because he is 16 why would this start now. I then went to get him some multi - vits from a nutri centre and the expert there said his symptoms sound like an allergy to dairy.

The strange thing is that for the first two years of his life he was dairy intolerent and was on Soya based products until the hospital slowly reintroduced dairy back. Could this suddenly come back again?

It could well have done, try cutting out out again and see what happens.

DD2 was diagnosed at 6 months old as completely dairy intolerant, then was carefully put back onto dairy products over a length of time.

Aged 15 it came back with a vengeance, though this was more with bloated stomach, pain and foul smelling 'blond' poo. Back to the GP we went where, again, a dairy and wheat intolerance were doagnosed

Now, aged 18 she is following a very strict diet but right as rain.

It could have come back again. I'm currently on a dairy "purge" after being able to eat dairy with very few problems for almost 3 years.

Try cutting it out and see what happens. Can't do any harm!
