    Unhappy Allergic to white wine???

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

But I think I may be. I have had a sneaky suspicion for a while now as it seems that, whenever I drink it, I can't sleep due to hot and cold sweats and when I am not too hot or cold, I just keep waking up. But I thought it may be the fact that I have had dd2 relatively recently and maybe it was psychological or something. So I stopped drinking white wine, but caved in on Friday and guess what? Friday night I couldn't stop waking up with hot and cold sweats.

    So an allergy? Gahhhh....

But luckily it doesn't seem to apply to cava - one of my faves!

Oh blimey, Xaulleo, you poor thing
I think I would rather lose my mental capabilities than my ability to drink most forms of alcohol - or did the former happen already

May be you'll have to go through the powers of elimination, there may be an ingredient in certain whites that you're allergic to. I'd start by making a note of what's in the bottle you had Friday and go from there possibly? That's just me though, I would try anything to keep on the white tipple!

That's a really good idea! As it does seem odd that I am ok with cava but not 'normal' white wine. I think I may have recycled the bottles already but will try to remember for next time.

Look at the rape variety and then look at the ingredients on the back.

Then start a rigorous testing of every bottle of white you can lay your hands on.......

Wine induces hypothyroidism in me, I can only drink occasionally or my metabolism goes caput. My symptoms are being unable to control body temp (I actually stop sweating), headache, drowsiness and lack of concentration - I also get insomnia after drink. This has recently caused me several months illhealth until I was diagnosed. It might be worth getting your bloods checked out.
http://www.counselling.cam.ac.uk/insom.html says that alcohol disrupts your sleep by making you produce adrenaline. It suggests drinking less often!

Yes, white wine used to be a staple for me... But I like the idea it's something in the wine, rather than the wine itself, so I guess I need to start some product testing.

You'll just have to stick to the expensive fizzy stuff from now on!
