Professor Nicholas Christakis looks lik a smug git doesn't he?
There is nothing 'hysterical' about being cautious if your child, the most important and beloved thing in your life, has an allergy potentially so severe that they might DIE on exposure to nuts or other allergens.
The Daily Mail is for mindless morons who lack the intelliegence to make informed and educated opinions and therefore buy the 'Hate Mail' for their daily dose of hysterical bullshiz.
I bet they run an article tomorrow claiming that the rise in alergies is down to the immigrants and homosexuals in the country![]()

I am actually tempted to post on that site saying that I think gay immigrants are the cause in the rise of allergies in this country just to see how many of the fuckwits agree with me![]()

LOL!!! Your bad.
It is articles like this that draw attention away from how potentially life threatening allergies can be. I seem to have a constant battle with Dd's school on understanding how very life threatening her allergy is and articles like this do not help matters.
I completely agree. Some people just see the whole 'nut free zone' thing as a reason to get bolshy and opinionated and start banging on about 'I shall put what I want in my childs luncbox. No one will tell me what to feed my kids'. When all that is being asked is to have consideration for a young life by omitting mainly nuts from a lunchbox. Is that really asking too much? Does their child really HAVE to have peanut butter at school. Is it really such a liberty to ask them to restrain from bringing this to school? It's about respect, consideration and understanding, which is sadly lacking in certain people in society.

Maybe if Doctors/Consultants etc made sure that they gave the allergic patient and his/her carers all the information they needed when diagnosing an allergy, people would not seem to be perceived as hysterical. Lots of children and adults are diagnosed without enough information on how to manage the diagnosis - they are just packed off with an Adrenaline Pen - just incase!!
