    MIlk alternatives

The allergy consultant mentioned to me whilst talking about family history that ds may have bad excema (still does) and now wheezing due to a milk intolerance/allergy.

Is it worth trying a dairy free exclusion to see if his skin improves?

and if so, what should i replace it with cause ds loves his milk and cheese and choccie, hes not allowed sweets cause it makes him hyper so what do i replace them with.

    anyone!

DS isn't allergic to milk (apparently) but he ad eczema as a baby and oce had a tummy bug where he was told not to eat anything and just drink water for 24 hours to clear it. Like magic his eczema cleared up! I mean it really was miraculous.

Both ds's went dairy free when they had a virus and I ave them soya milk (although allergies to soya are common aswell) and dairy frr spreads made from pupmkin oil from the health food shop. Even had dairy free yoghurts and cheese - although was very odd consistancy!
I am ace and I live in space.

I was going to say Soya or rice milk, it is worth a try to see if it has any effect.

We did the dairy free thing for 18 months for freds eczema.

We went on to goats milk, as soya is minging ( well the on we got was!!) gotas cheese, soya yoghurts, steered well clear of biscuits cake and anythign else with milk in for a while untill his skin cleared up. he's fine now and is on a full varied diet. I think he's grwon out of it, we were lucky.

The GP wasnt impressed with the goats milk stuff but we were happy and it did make a huge difference to us. I was also amazed at the aomunt of food that milk is in.

its worth going on goats/soya milk and change cheese, this will be the hardest esp as he loves his cheese and biscuits, might see if can get dairy free biscuits

funny enough ds has a tummy bug today so its worth a shot over the next few days to see if it helps, just water and get some soy milk when the bug clears up, no harm in trying is there?

my son loves flavoured soya milk, he picks them up at the wholefood shop, so you could try this. He loves the desserts too.
Dairy free choc is reasonably available in supermarkets though pricey. all wholefood shops will have it.

sweets-wise, have you tried jordan's all-fruit bars or sunsweet humzingers? They are basically bars of dried fruit but taste great. Our boys have them as snacks.
