Unhappy Think he may be allergic to egg

The Mini Munchkin had a bad reaction last week after enjoying some scrambled egg for lunch.
He has had egg twice previously- scrambled egg and egg mayo sandwich, with no reaction.
After lunch he was grizzly and unsettled, he was rubbing his eyes and I thought that he was tired. He did not settle, would not sleep or take a feed and had some episodes of loud screaming. Approx 2 hrs after lunch he had a loud, explosive but relatively normal poo. He eventually fell asleep on my shoulder. Approx 3 1/2 hrs after lunch, he had brightened up, but then had a massive vomit consisting almost entiely of scrambled egg. When his nappy was was changed, it contained pure scrambled egg. He has remained well since, and I am keeping off egg and awaiting a doctors appt

    Poor little thing
When is his appointment for? Best thing to do is keep him off of eggs until you've seen a doctor but I know there have been some pretty virile stomach bugs doing the rounds so could it be that he may have caught one of these?
Hope the docs appt is soon, and that he stays well now

Heather had a reaction to egg when she was 16. I can't remmber what it was though. I think her mouth blistered.

Anyway because of it she couldn't have her MMR at my local doctors and had to have it at the hospital and kept there under supervision for an hour before I was allowed to take her home.

Sometimes I type faster than I think.

I actually meant 6 months. It would make sense if I just forgot to write the word months on the end but don't know why I put a 1 on the front. Duh.

May have been a bug...did he have any other symptoms...skin imflamation, chest problems?

    Best to be safe though.

Ds2 was on an egg free diet for a year untill his eczema cleared up, no he loves them!

He had no other symptoms and was fine after. That's why I'm a bit concerned

ds1 is allergic to egg, I can't remember what happened first time out as it was quite mild and I don't remember what he ate, didn't think much of it as he went a bit red and brought it all back up, but then he was having a funny eating stage at the time! Then nursery gave him a little scrambled egg with some other bits and pieces and were sure it was but asked me to try and get the piriton ready!

First of all his face goes all red starting around his cheeks then flushing out more round his mouth and up his nose and across his eyes as the reaction sets in. During this time he's vommiting and then his nose starts running like he's got a real streamer of a cold, for a while its fairly constantly coming out. Next the respiratory side of it kicks in, its like a bad asthma attack (he's also asthmatic), The last bad I went for 6 puffs of his inhaler to help (10 puffs is the same as a nebuliser (sp?)), and I also give him the piriton and try and get him to stay calm until it calms down.

To get it checked I took him to a GP who refered me to the allergy clinic. We now go once a year where they retest him and test for anything else I think might have caused reactions. So far its just egg.

We now carry piriton with him everywhere, he's not so bad that he needs a epipen, I believe the measurements they take when they test them tell the docs whether thats necessary or not.

There are places where you can pay to get almost everything checked out for them, I'm afraid I don't have the details to hand at the moment but I'm sure a quick search on the web would do it.

MJ - Does he eat other foods with egg in? Biscuits, cake, quiche?
