Do you think it's too early???

Gero has just turned 2.... well not just....he'll soon be 25 months old. Do you think it's too early for me to give it a go???

I bought some new little pants yesterday.....he liked them and wanted them on quickly. He just seems a little bit more...strong willed and if he says no ... its no. I just hope he doesn't get too upset when I insist..... or shouldn't I ????

Mine were both potty trained within a month of their 2nd birthdays and it wasn;t a hassle at all as I guess they were ready so I would say yes, give it a go

Media Freak - I think Maria is aware of the signs and the facts of potty training as she has an older son. Maybe you could help by sharing your own personal experience of potty training your child......?

I'm sure it's lovely weather over there so no problem spending lots of time outside with no pants on? Give it a go & be really chilled about it, what's the worst that can happen? Good luck xxx

Agree with others Maria (except Media Freak - what an odd post).

Sofie took several attempts before she finally got it. Each time we tried for a few days (at her request) and when it became clear it wasn't working and was upsetting her, we backed right off. She was 30 months when she finally was reliably toilet trained during the day, and the whole process was very quick.

Emily made her first attempt within a few weeks of her second birthday (same age as Gero), and was clean and dry day and night from day 1. She was clearly ready and it happened very quickly, with minimal input from me.

Get the new pants out, remove all difficult clothing, leave a potty in a prominent place, and go for it.

I think you have to play it by ear.
My 27 mth old recently had a dry night nappy and did wees on the potty and was very pleased with himself, he had 1 afternoon proudly wearing underpants but only doing a few tiny wees in the potty.
the next morning his nappy was wet through and he refused the potty. Since then he has only done a couple of wees on the potty . He keeps saying nothing is comi9ng, but when i promise him a sticker , wee magically appears. Stubborn or what!

Im also having fun potty training my littleman, I've been dreading it for months!! He's coming on slowly but surely. At 1st he wouldnt even sit on the potty let alone wee on it....so I started bribing him with a jelly baby then or giving him a pot of grapes/satuma whilst he's sat on the potty. I know its not exactly hygenic but it started off the whole process very nicely. Now he knows that if he sits on the potty or does a wees on it he gets a jelly baby. Luckily we have moved away from eating whilst peeing!! Started potty training about 8 weeks ago & he does on average about 1 wee a day on it so we are getting there! We've got 7 months to get him dry before baby #2 arrives fingers crossed!!
