    I am soooooooooo Frustrated

At the moment I am really frustrated with my DS1 We have been trying to potty train him for a couple of months but he still several accidents a day. I don't think he is truly ready to potty train and want to put him back in nappies. He probably has 2 to 3 accidents a day. He is worse when we are out we have at least twice the usual amount. He sometimes asks to go or he takes himself to the potty. Ares is a lot worse with his clothes on than he is with just pants on.I am just fed up with all the dirty washing he produces and the mess. Part of me wants to carry on because we have made some progress but the other part of me wants to put him back in nappies and try again in a couple of months.
Do you have any suggestions what I can do ?

    He's young IME

If you're happy to drop it for a month or so then do. Both ds's here were well over 3 before they were even showing an interest and then it only took a few weeks of puddles and so on. It's a pain in the bum I know but if he's mucking about then just leave it, it's not worth the stress is it?

I agree with the above it won't hurt to leave it for a month or so ,the stress is really not worth it

He doesn't sound ready to me, and he is quite young. DS1 was 3 when he cracked it, DS2 was almost 4. Both of them pretty much decided for themselves when they were ready, and both of them had it cracked in a couple of weeks when they did. I'd be inclined to leave him in nappies or pullups and save yourself (and him) the stress.

I decided to put him in pull ups so If he asks me can go. This morning he whipped his nappy off because he wanted a pooh so I have left his nappy off and he has done several wees in the potty as well. He is better with poohs than wee Ares nearly always tells me when he wants a pooh.

He's getting interested then . Just leave off the pressure for now and let him ask . Praise his successes - stickers or buttons perhaps. Must be hard with a lo too.

DD2 is almost 3 and still isn't there, she's just not that bothered even though she knows when she needs a wee and will use the potty. The best thing someone said to me once was 'how many adults do you know who aren't potty trained?' They will (nearly) all get there eventually.

The last few days he has done really well hardly any accidents as long as he doesn't wear any thing on his bottom. Put him in pants and the tinkle fairy pays a visit to them.I found leaving him in pull up when out as taken the stress out of it.I am no longer worrying about taking him out for long periods of time. We will get there evenutally.
