Littleman afriad of pooing into potty!

Ive been potty training my littleman for about a month & half now & he is doing really well. We are still al the first stage which is giving him no nappy time all day & reminding him to sit on the potty every so often. Sometimes he even squats over the potty & does a wee when he's not prompted.
The only thing we are having problems with is the number 2s!! He gets really upset with me when he needs to go & seems really distressed when I tell him to sit on the potty when I think he needs a poo, he even points to his nappies urging me to put one on him so he can go! Im determined Im not going to put a nappy on him just so he can do his business but as you can imagine I don't want to keep cleaning poo off the carpet!! I have even tried bribing him with jelly babies & treats/award stickers which works a treat for the wee wee's but pooing on the potty is a long way off I think! Any suggestions will be grately received!!

First suggestion is not to force him to poo on the potty. You will cause more isues in the long run.

If he wants a nappy to poo in then let him for the time being. Thats normal to want to poo in a nappy. He'll probably go and hide under a table to do it too

Keep encouraging him to wee on the potty, but lay off the bribery and stop forcing him to opp on there.

    Totally agree with auntylady.
My daughter potty trained herself when she was just 2, she has been dry day and night ever since apart from a few accidents.
My son however is 2 1/2 and is nowhere near wanting to try, he knows what the toilet is for but he's not all that interested in it. I would love him to be trained but I'm certainly not going to push him into it if he's not ready, we shall end up having mess everywhere!!
If he wants a nappy on to poo in them let him, otherwise he might hold it in and end up constipated.
2 is very early to start potty training remember, and I would stop the bribery too, not sure sweets are the best way to train.
    Good luck!

Thanks for all your advice, but I seem to be getting mixed messages from everyone, my mum & MIL. I have never actually forced him to sit on the potty as I knew that would lead to him having a fear of going to the toilet. But can see how distressed he is getting when I wont put a nappy on him for a number 2. My mum, MIL keep telling me that I will confuse him if I go back to letting him wear a nappy during the day just so he can poo in his nappy so Im unsure what to do for the best. I have a fair idea when he needs to go so Im going to put pull ups on him for his number 2s I think for a while. He only really wears nappies at night. As for the bribing, he isnt allowed sweets of any form usually, he is only allowed 1 jelly baby after he has weed in the potty but have started moving on to rewarding him with stickers as the potty wee wee's are getting more frequent. I think its a good idea to reward him with something which he isnt usually allowed. Its worked so well with the wee's anyway. As Im pregnant with my 2nd which is due end of April I am trying to get the main part of potty training out the way over the next few months as I have more time for him & can give him more help & attention with it. But Think its impossible to push him to do anything, he is too strong willed for that, thats why I've started now so he can learn gradually

    Upate on littlemans toilets!!!

Im so proud of my little boy! He seemed to have a fear of pooing without a nappy on, so I only concentrated on wee wees on the potty & in the 'big boy' loo for a couple of months & he is 95% dry in the day now & wears pants. Then a couple of weeks ago he started doing his poo's squatting over the potty....then I gradually got him sitting down in his little seat on the proper toilet doing poo's! He's done one every day for 6 days in a row, cannot believe how well he has come on. Just goes to show that kids always do everything in their own time & when they're ready .
