Unhappy The most stubborn child ever

    and so our saga continues.
We did try a month or so ago and stopped after 10 days as DS1 was just so controlling. He would hold on to his wee and sit n the potty for up to an hour holding it in. Then flood his trousers 5 mins later. he definitely has control but just refuses to use the potty or toilet.

We strated again Saturday- 6 pairs of pants and 5 trousers, nil in potty/ toilet.
Think he wanted to test our reactions to wetting.

Sunday we had wet underpants and pjs at 10am. Went out for lunch and soft play- stayed dry. Tried potty/ toilet when we got home for 2 hrs!!!! Eventually he went to bed ( with a nappy) and no tea ( he was going to have it after his wee, so said he wasn't hungry) Needless to say massive wet and pooey nappy this am.

Agggggh! It's the smug smile when he tells us that nothing is coming out that really get me

    Oh no!

I dont know what to suggest Jane, other than sticking it out....and not giving in. Which is harder than it sounds I know.

Just a thought MJ, but has he tried standing up? Alex didn't want to sit on potty/toilet at all and was nearly 4 when he eventually potty trained but we found out he wanted to stand up instead.

Could you try it with a ping pong ball down the toilet to see if he can wee on it?

Is there any toy/something he really really wants, something you could use as a lever to help him decide to be a big boy?
At the end of the day, its got to be his decision... and like any man, you have to help him make that decision with your female wiles

Lovin' the ping pong ball idea though Hids

Sorry I can't be any more help, MJ......

    Love

I didn't really potty train. I guess I was lucky. I would just take the morning nappy off and leave air to get to her bum for a while before dressing her. I was in the kitchen one morning and Heather shoted wee wee. Me thinking "oh no" went into living room to find she'd done it in her potty of her own accord. I guess I must have taught her what it was for but she obviously didn't want to do it under pressure and thought she'd give it a go whilst I was out of the room.

If he's not trained by the time the warm weather comes in, you could try it in the garden. Put potty outside and leave him bottomless? Then accidents don't matter so much.

I was actually watching an episode of rugrats the otehr day where they were trying to potty train Chucky but he wouldn't/couldn't go as long as people were watching him no matter how desperate he was but his parents kept putting him on the toilet and then stodd there watching him so he couldn't go. It was rather amusing.

I've got a ping pong ball with a face on that sits on our toilet as target practice, got it in a pack from the baby show. Still got 3 left in the pack if you want me to send one Jane, Thomas seems to like aiming at them lol.
Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so

LMAO that reminds of the urinals the etch flys into to get 80% less spillage because they men can't help but aim at the fly.

Thanks guys. it's nice to have your support.
he has been offered standing up sitting down etc he has some extra special Mr Men underpants he loves which are sitting in a packet to be opened when he does a wee on target.
He insists that he doesn't want to do them in potty or toilet.
Yesterday he did one in his pants after lunch ( he knew he would be asked to sit shortly) one whilst at the park ( could have been an accident, not sure) and one when we came back from the park while i was upstairs changing his brother's nappy.

Let's see how today goes at nursery- I reckon he'll hold on all day and do it on the way home.
    he is one awkward customer

I know its not the same seeing as Jayden is almost 9 but he never uses the toilet in school EVER..... He was the same at nursery too used too, and he much prefered standing at the loo hated the potty.

I hope things get better soon sweetie big o'l huggles from me to you xxxxxx
