    Well I was nearly right.
Was toileted every half hr at nursery , did nil.( why so often that's ridiculous)

Said he was wet when I collected him but wasn't. So we went to use the nursery toilet. he had a massive tantrum and wouldn't sit for me. Then flooded through to his shoes and socks on the landing ouside his classroom.

I have read your posts.....& am keeping my that he goes for you!

have you tried good old fashioned bribery? If you do a pee in the pot then you can have.....?

other than that I am at a loss. I guess it is just going to take time & some are quicker than others. I do feel for you though

I have caught up on all your posts and have an off the wall suggestion. Put him back in his nappy in the day. If he is being this stubborn - let him have his own way this time. But he will soon realise the boys his age at nursey are getting rid of nappies in the day or are already in pants. Especially in the preschool rooms. If he decides then he doesn't want to be the odd one out he will decide for himself to use the toilet. So he will think you have let him get his own way but you will know otherwise. It sounds like the more you get stressed out by it and push him the more he is going to rebel.

I have a friend whose 3 yr old was stubborn too and refused to potty train. Said he was going to stop wearing a nappy when he bacame a Daddy! (Like that would happen! We had a giggle though.) Anyway he was playing out in the garden in the summer with no undies need a a wee desparately and found the loo as he didn't want to wee in his sand pit!

Good luck whichever route you decide to take.

    Thanks All.
Neddy- bribery has been tried already
Sasha- we tried a few months ago and stopped after 10 days. He is 3 yrs and 10 months and knows that ALL his friends, even those a year younger use the toilet. he's not bothered about being the odd one out. Sounds a bit like your friend's LO as he too says he will stp wearing nappies when he is a daddy.
Will carry on for a bit longer and see how it goes

Take him out to choose a baby (doll kind) tell him this is your baby, now you are a daddy you can wear pants like daddy.

    clever!
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
    We will remember them.

I'm sorry to hear about your problems with potty training Jane. My boy Samuel is 3 years 3 months and he isn't trained yet. I do sometimes worry about what age he should be trained by so to hear you still have trouble at his age makes me feel not so bad. The girls his age are already trained and I thought I might be doing something wrong. He'll go if you ask him to most times but he hardly ever asks to go and when he does want to go he just goes whether he's wearing nappies or pants.
