    miam's musings

Ok, I have about two months to lose a stone before I see specialist about op (otherwise he will kick my backside out of the hospital). I am 10st now after losing a pound last week, and need to be at the most, 9st. My ultimate aim is to get back to 8.7...

Two months could be pushing it a bit so I have joined two exercise classes a week (first one tonight - 'Body attack' which sounds slightly sadistic) and am going to keep a record of what I am eating here. I am following Scottish Slimmers diet, so have to keep fat to a minimum and averaging between 1,200 up to 1,400 max cals a day.

    So here goes.

    Breakfast:

    40g fruit & fibre 146
    Yoghurt 115

    Lunch:

    2 slices wholemeal bread 186
25g low fat soft cheese 63
    Tomato and cucumber free
4 slices wafer thin ham 32

    Dinner:

    Dont know yet

    Snacks:

    200ml semi-skimmed milk 100
    banana 90
    2 satsumas 50
    yoghurt 115

So far 897 and very low fat.

So far so good!! Feeling really motivated. Writing EVERYTHING that passes my lips which is really helping (made me quite shocked to see how much I was actually eating before). Have been doing lots of exercise and lost 14cm this week alone so although only 1lb loss last week it is really showing. Everyone remarking now that they can see I have lost weight. Down to 9.12 today - yay! So 14lbs to go to get to my first goal of 8.12. Once I get there will decide whether I need to lose any more.

Have joined 3 exercise classes - Sunday, Wednesday and Friday nights. Went to the 'Body Attack' one on Wednesday night, and it was sadistic... thought I was going to die as it was high impact aerobics. Managed to survive somehow... but changing that class to step until I am a tad fitter and then may go back.

    So onwards and downwards....

Well done on the inch loss and on the weight loss.

I have just started writing everything down as well as I did that when I first lost weight but haven't been doing it so far this time.

    Thanks bunny.

And thanks too Mel. I find that if I don't write everything down I guess and ALWAYS grossly underestimate. My mum bought me back turkish delight from Greece last week and I thought 'Mmmm, that's meant to be good for on a diet - no fat!' so proceeded to munch away half of the pack. THEN I decided to check the cals and discovered I'd scoffed almost 600!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That taught me NEVER to guess ! Well done on losing 12.5lbs - going well!!

Another good day. Infact, i think I can treat myself to something sweet tonight yum. I had quorn with a red wine sauce (incredibly low in fat and cals!!) with a stirfry of baby corn/green beans/mangetout/pepper/courgettes. Used the one cal spray and a bit of soya sauce. Weird combination with the red wine sauce but still tasted lovely.

Off to step in 2 hours - hoping my dinner will have digested quite a lot by then....

Another good day - this is becoming a habit! But a good one.

9.11 today!! So pleased. Really, really enjoyed step last night although was really hard. Came out feeling very motivated. And discovered I actually have muscles on my arms today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a first - ever! (Thank you Davina )

Roll on tomorrow and another step class.

Had a kind of up and down weekend, but not too bad. Was good yesterday and today though.

Went to the most appalling exercise class yesterday. Only 4 of us turned up (that should have given me a warning). I wondered for a while where the instructor was when this very overweight, 50ish woman put on headphones and stood at the front. That would have been ok if she was superfit, but the class was so easy it was laughable... didnt even break a sweat! Infact, was so pee'd off by the end of it that seriously considered staying to take part in the next class.... Just felt so disappointed that I had made the effort for nothing!

Never mind, put it down to experience and am trying a different class next Sunday with my friend - boxercise... sounds worrying.... So have now got step on Wednesday and Friday's and the new class on Sunday.

Oh and I HAVE GOT MUSCLES IN MY ARMS!! Have never ever seen that before!
