i havent posted on here for a loooooong time.. i ended up renting an office space as my house was over run with fabrics, its good at times as i drop the kids off to school go to "work" spend several hours just making the nappies, wraps and anything else that needs to be done, this way i find i dont get distracted as easy as i would if i was home..
but its still hard.. school holidays are the worst, now and then i take the kids with me but they then get bored, and as there are other offices there i worry they will disturb everyone..
but it means nightimes are family time, as there are no more orders to do sitting infront of me.. so i spend that little bit more time with the kids and then work time is work time.. but i still am trying to find that perfect balance lol i dont think i ever will..

Fleece soakers, nappy wraps and more

Working at home is quite difficult I am still adjusting especially I used to work in the office. But the reward is priceless, we always have time for our family. I do enjoy working at home!

Saw a commercial on TV once where a woman went for her first job interview after being home with the kids for some years. When asked what she has done for the past years she replied: "I ran a very successful family business!".

Loved it and I believe that's exactly what it is. And combining that with "real work" from home deserves the highest respect!

wow, your post is quite inspiring.
My youngest will be starting nursery school in sept so I'm really looking forward to having a daily 2 hours in which to be as organised as possible. Also, the mum I made friends with when both our boys started nursery (they now in reception) also has a daughter starting in nursery and the girls play so lovely together. So we're arranging some swap days now and again so she'll have my littley so I can have some time to crack on then the next week I'll look after her littley so she has a break. It's lovely having such a lovely friend like that, and really good that it benefits us both.

i also work from home and i think im busier than working in the office. at the office i have lots of free time and just waiting for the work hours to end but when at home i get to do a lot of things. though im not as organized as you are. im lucky we're still living with my parents because hubby is working abroad and living with my kid, just the two of us is really lonely. but don't get me wrong, we are not depending on my parents to buy diapers or whatever. me and my husband have our own money and we like it that way. thank God for the internet or else we wouldn't be able to work from home. cheers to us!

I no what you mean it can be a struggle with the kids. I enjoy working at home as I can make a decent income online aswell as being able to pick them up from School

I always thought that kids went to school too early in this country (and that's coming from a teacher) but now that I have a sparky 2 year old and I want to work more I take it all back. I almost think she is going to be bored by the time she is four. She goes to a great early years nursery but I can't see her pottering about there for two more years. So instead of feeling guilty about looking for nursery/childcare etc for her, I think actually it is what she needs. And it makes me a much nicer mum too when I've had some space to do useful things with my brain (rather than tidying up paraphernalia all day).

    Hi There,

I am also a WAHM and have been for seven years now and I can't say I am any better at it now, its certainly not the eutopia everyone thinks it is. I cannot look past the mess and relax, it drives me bonkers, there is just no dividing line between what is home time and what is work time, it all just blends into one.

But for me I think the worst is the seperation I feel from the rest of the team, after seven years "in the field" my finger is no longer on the pulse of the action anymore, and I can honestly say that despite supreme effort on my part I feel like I am being left behind. The only sensible solution is give up my WFH status and go back to the office. A 1hr commute each way means that's just not an option.

I am on the look out for something else but my current employers are so accomodating its made it impossible to equal my current terms and conditions elsewhere, I have come the conclusion I will have to work for myself and have set up my own business.... I now work 24/7 365 days a year!!! meethinks I may have missed something somewhere!
