yes, I suppose I am
never quite tagged myself that way before, but yes
Was talking to a priest recently who said she had thought long and hard about becoming a priest, whether it was scripturally right, that she had talked to lots of people and decided, after careful consideration, that the church had a lot of misogynistic bollocks in it
The gospel church I go to, along side my more orthodox anglican church, does not believe in "lady vicars" though have recently accepted my gentle suggestion that my own vicar would prefer "woman priest" (or preferably, priest). It amuses me that they will cite lots of examples where God has used a woman to minister....until a man came along. They do not have females lead in worship or study....but they do work in the Sunday school.....
I don't go so far as to sing different words, if the hymn says, "I am your son", I don't change it to "I am your child" nor do I have any issues with God making man in his image - I think its quite damaging to refer to God as she, and other such nonsense
I used to date a pre ordination priest....we had many a 'conversation' on the subject. I usually won.... I generally won the sex before marriage arguments too![]()
