My little boy turned 2 last week, just wondered if he should be having a developmental check from the health visitor soon as we havent heard anythinhg...
Depends on the area. dd1 had one at 3, dd2 never had one at all. Think at some point I got a card through listing areas of development and asking I contact them if there are any concerns.
Not sure why dd2 hasn't had one, she starts school this week so they won't now. Maybe they can't fit them in. They were generally silly anyway. If you have any concerns they are there, but otherwise there is little point going in.
I think they tend to leave it to the parent to raise any concerns, DS2 didn't have the old style hearing test at 8 months!
If you're happy, they they'll be happy, the only problem with this is the families that get missed, through lack of education or whatever they might not even raise a concern, where there may be one.

DD2 hasn't had one since about 2 days! Well, not 100% sure that's right, but I definitely haven't seen the HV as much this time around - I think just the once after she was born. She has had all the jabs though and we have to go to the GP quite a bit because of her excema, so I assume all is well and right.
our library does free books direct at three different stages. Good scheme.
